Bye Bye Birdie Auditions Open auditions for the Arts in McNairy production of the musical, Bye Bye Birdie are being held 6:00 PM, April 11 & 12 at McNairy Central High School in the choir room. The choir room is located in C Pod, behind the Little Theatre. Multiple roles are available for teens and adults as well as children eight years and older. No theatre experience is required to audition but those seeking lead roles should be prepared to read from the script, sing and perform a few simple dance steps. Production dates for the show are June 10-14 at MCHS Little Theatre. Bye Bye Birdie is a Tony Award winning musical which pokes, good-natured, fun at the teen pop culture of the late 1950s. It is loosely based on events that transpired when Elvis Presley was drafted into the U.S. Army, sending his loyal female fans into hysterics. A team of AiM musical veterans will be responsible for bringing Bye Bye Birdie to the Selmer stage. Performing Arts Chair Bryan Essary will direct and Sarah Lemons will act as musical director.

Big Bad April 1-3 Get ready for Big Bad! A great cast of local youth has been assembled for this hilarious fairytale spoof in which the Big Bad Wolf goes on trial for his numerous fairyland infractions. The show will take the stage for three performances April 1-3 at the MCHS Little Theatre. Show times are 7:30 Friday and Saturday night and 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon. All tickets will be available at the door for $5.00 (students) and $8.00 (adults). A sold-out school show is also being performed exclusively for McNairy County students. Ask school administrators about further details or booking classes for future shows. Big bad is being directed by AiM board and performing arts committee member, Joanna Pitts. Joanna has appeared in numerous roles in the last several years and last directed the children's production, A Tale of Two Tailors. See the complete cast list below.
